Usability and Experience Design Project for BUILD.org
BUILD.org is a national non-profit organization dedicated to proving the power of experiential learning through entrepreneurship, and igniting the potential of youth in under-resourced communities. The BUILD Entrepreneurship Curriculum is currently being taught in 9th and 10th grade classrooms across the United States.
In the spring of 2016, the BUILD National Program Team was interested in fine-tuning their curriculum resources to make them more approachable and usable for partner teachers. Melissa Jones worked with the staff to design a new layout and template for the curriculum. Melissa conducted user research to understand the needs of BUILD partner educators. Based on her learning, Melissa created a new template and delivery mechanism for the organization's lesson plans.
